Shazam was directed by David Sandberg and made in 2019. This superhero movie was a one of a kind movie full of humor, action, and tears. In this movie, a fourteen-year-old foster kid becomes a grown-up superhero and has to learn along the way what it means to be a hero.
I really enjoyed this movie. I surprised the DC has finally made a good movie. I had all the perfect amount of humor with heartfelt emotions. They bring in elements of who the characters are in throughout the whole movie. Like Billy Batson, played by Asher Angel, is obsessed in finding his mom and he thinks that if he find his mom he will be happy and finally have someone to call family. But when Billy finally meets his mom, played by Caroline Palmer, is turns out the she just abandoned him to the cold. Billy realizes that his family is the people who take care of him and love him. It was a big character development for him.
I felt like every character in the movie is an actual person, meaning every character has their own interesting personality. I also thought that everybody did a really good job at acting in the movie. The only thing that bother me was when Billy and Shazam, played by Zachary Levi, where switching back and forth between characters. I felt like Asher Angel played the character more laid back, chill, and cool. Where as Zachary Levi played the character more how a dumb kid would be. Don’t get me wrong I think both actors were great, but I think there should have been more of character traits that were similar. I just felt like they weren’t the same person.
There was many scene that feel real, and sincere I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone. I would give this movie, a rare rating from me by the way, a 4 out of 5 stars.
